May and September. The long flower period means flower

Hechi area is located in the Round-Pacific metallogenic
zone, part of the Nanling
Metallogenic province, therefore it has substantial
mineral resources particularly non-ferrous metal resources
with a nation-wide fame of "Home of Nonferrous
Metal". There are a satisfactory variety of metals
with characteristics of large reservations, high quality,
concentrated production area, and rich and valuable
intergrowth and associated minerals. Verified are
43 kinds of metals including tin, antimony, zinc,

vitriol etc. Their proved reserves reach 8.4515 million

Farm Produce Specialties
Luohanguo (Podocarpus Fruits): Guilin has a long
history of growing Luohanguo with many of its own
rare and precious varieties that are named after their
habitat. Among the products made from Luohanguo are
Purely Natural Juice, Sweet Crystal, Lozenge, Soluble
(Cough) Grains manufactured by Yongfu County Pharmaceutical
Factory of Guilin, Guangxi.
Guilin now has a Luohanguo growing area of over 23,000
mu, that produce over 9,800 pieces of fruit annually
with an annual output value of over 60 million yuan.
In recent years, Guilin podocarpus fruits are mainly
distributed in Yongfu County and Lingui County. Lonjiang
Town of Yongfu County was named "Home of Chinese
Podocarpus Fruits" by the nation.
Lipu Taro: Lipu taro, grown under the special natural
conditions in Lipu County of Guilin, and influenced
by the local environmental climate, has undergone
hundreds of years of artificial cultivation and natural
selection, and thus become a prestigious local specialty
famous for its pleasant color, fragrant smell and
delicious taste. Its flesh is tender and rich in nutrition,
containing varied elements such as crude protein,
starch, various vitamins and inorganic salts. Having
a benefiting effect on man's vital energy and internal
organs, Lipu taro is an ideal raw material for making
drinks, refreshments, delicacies as well as nutritious
tonics and therefore has enjoyed the name of "Imperial

At present, the growing area of Lipu taro has reached
over 50,000 mu with an annual output of 75,000 tons.

Penggan (an excellent variety of mandarin oranges):
Penggan is splendid to the sense of taste. With thin
skin, thick pulp, few cores, sweet and juicy, it contains
various vitamins and soluble substances and has become
famous at home and abroad. It's also endurable of
storage and transportation.
Guilin now has a growing area of over 90,000 mu
for Penggan. The annual output is about 110,000 tons,
worth over 100 million yuan. A massive production
mode has been formed and the produce is sold all over
China as well as to Vietnam, Russia, Hong Kong and
Macao.
Guilin Penggan production is mainly distributed
in Longsheng County and Gongcheng County. It won a
Silver Production Prize at the 2nd Chinese Agriculture
Fair in October, 1995. In 1996 Gongcheng County was
awarded the title "Home of Penggan" by China's
Ministry of Agriculture.

Hepu South Pearls
Hepu South Pearls are universally recognized as the
best of its kind in the world. Each possesses a perfectly
round shape and shines brightly. The sea pearls are
